Questions we get

Colour grading, VFX and compositing, retouching, the sound mix, subtitles and captions, and masters delivered to broadcast or digital specification. Post production video services on their own, for a locked cut from another editor, or as the finish of a film we edited; in London and remotely for clients across the UK, Europe and the US.

Everything after the edit is locked: the colour grade, visual effects and compositing, retouching, the sound mix, subtitles and captions, and the export of masters to each destination's specification. We take a locked cut from another editor as readily as our own.

Yes. Loudness, legal levels, aspect ratio, codec and clock are set to the broadcaster's delivery document, and the master is checked against it before it leaves. Tell us the broadcaster and the spec at the start.

That is normal here. Non-standard exports are part of the job, not an extra round. Horizontal, vertical, square, out-of-home screens and odd shapes are all quoted as versions.

Usually. Logos, screens, reflections, rigs, blemishes, a product that changed after the shoot: compositing and clean-up in Nuke or After Effects handles most of it. Where a shot cannot be saved we say so before the day is spent.

Yes. Stills, packshots and campaign images are retouched to the same standard as the film, and the on-pack claims are checked against your claims sheet before delivery.

Yes. ProRes 422 and 422 HQ are standard here, in the wrapper your playout actually takes: a .mov for a vision mixer or a Tricaster, .mxf where the broadcaster's delivery document asks for it. Tell us the playout system and the show time at the brief stage, and you get an mp4 to approve first so the heavy master is built once, in the right wrapper.

By the day. A grade and a mix on a short film is a day or two; a VFX-heavy spot is quoted shot by shot into days. The number is agreed in writing before the work starts.
