AI storyboarding and animatics

Boards quick enough to change your mind on. Every scene of your script as a frame, AI-generated for speed or drawn by hand when the job needs it, delivered as a PDF, a Figma file, an Excel grid or our own internal tool for your team to comment on, and animated by the same people who made it.

What we make

  • ●Storyboards from a script or a brief: every scene as a frame, in the look the finished film will have.
  • ●Animatics: the approved frames cut to a scratch or final voice, so the pacing is agreed before anything is animated.
  • ●Frames generated with AI, which is the faster route and where most boards start now, or drawn by hand when the job needs it — art-directed either way until the frame is right.
  • ●Delivered as a PDF board, as a Figma file, or even in Excel or our own internal tool — whichever your team would rather comment in, frame by frame, with every round kept as its own version.
  • ●Animation starts from the signed-off frames, with the same studio carrying it through to the finished film.

The animation these boards lead into: Motion graphics and animation.

Three ways a board arrives

Which one you get depends on what you want and what the project needs. The frames themselves are generated with AI for speed, or drawn by hand when the job needs it.

A scene-by-scene grid

A scene-by-scene grid

Shot type, script, timing, audio and references in one row per scene, for a film that has to be planned before it is drawn.

Generated for speed, or drawn by hand when the job needs it — art-directed either way, which is the same bar as everything else that leaves here.

Questions we get

Yes, and that is the point of it. Every scene comes to you as a frame to read, comment on and sign off, and the animation is built from the approved frames. Changing a frame costs minutes; changing an animated scene costs a day.

Generated first in most cases, because it is faster and it puts a board in front of you sooner. Where a project needs it we draw the frames by hand instead, the traditional way, and we tell you which you are getting. Either way the frame is art-directed until the composition, the product detail and the brand are right, and nothing reaches you as a generated picture nobody has looked at.

Either. Send a script and we board it; send a brief and we write the script first, and both come to you for approval before anything is drawn in earnest.

Usually a PDF board of numbered frames you can send round internally, or a Figma file, or even Excel, or our own internal tool if your team would rather comment on the frames themselves — every round kept as its own version, so nothing is lost between iterations. An animatic cut to voice comes with it where the timing matters.

No. Which tools touch your material is written into the scope, and a model whose terms would keep or train on your material is not used on your account.

Boarding and animatics sit inside the project and are quoted by the day like the rest of the work, agreed in writing before anything starts.

What clients say, in their words

Every line is quoted as written. Nothing is edited for effect.

Motiohead have been an absolute pleasure to work with - consistently high quality work, very speedy, trustworthy and well priced. I'd definitely recommend to others and I'd also definitely work with them again. They are also excellent communicators and are very accommodating with updates to briefs, which has been a real help. We'll be working with Motiohead again for sure.
