Footage transfer, without your internet


We copy your footage from Dropbox, Vimeo or any other platform into your Google Drive, or wherever you choose. It runs from our servers, so your connection is not used and your computer can stay off.



Why it is faster this way

Moving terabytes over an office or home line can take weeks and ties the connection up. Our servers sit on a fast connection, so the copy runs from cloud to cloud without touching yours.

Your files are copied, never removed. Everything stays where it is now until you decide otherwise.

Your old footage ends up where your team already works, in folders you can find it in.

How it works

  1. 1Tell us in Studio where the footage is and where it should go. The first message is already written for you at the top of this page.
  2. 2Sign an NDA, if you like. You fill in your company details, accept it with one click, and a signed PDF is emailed to you.
  3. 3We measure the total size, tell you how long it will take, and start the copy once you confirm.
  4. 4We check every file arrived, remove our access and tell you it is done. The record of every file, its size and its new link is in your project.

How your files are organised

Questions we get

Smaller libraries usually finish within a day. Several terabytes into Google Drive take a few days, because Drive accepts a set amount per account each day. We tell you the timing once we have measured the size.

Most of them. We copy from Vimeo, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, OneDrive, SharePoint and Amazon S3, among others, and into any of them apart from Vimeo. If yours is not listed, ask in the chat and we will check.

Nobody at Motiohead watches or opens your files. The copy is run by automated systems, and a person may check only the record of what went where: file names, sizes and the new links. We never keep a copy: your files pass through our system on the way and nothing is stored once the job is done. If you would like it in writing, we sign a confidentiality agreement first.

You invite hello@motiohead.com to your Vimeo account as Admin, or share your Dropbox folder with it, and share the folder the files should go to, in Google Drive or wherever you want them, with hello@motiohead.com as an editor. The chat shows you each step. We remove our access when we finish, and you can remove it yourself at any time.

No. Your computer can be off. We message you when it is done.

It follows the total size: £15 up to 2 TB, £29 up to 4 TB, £79 up to 7 TB, all plus VAT, and a quote above that. We confirm it with you in Studio, and the copy starts once it is paid.
