Visual effects (VFX) and compositing for Photonlens, a maker of augmented-reality glasses. The brand film shows what wearing them is meant to feel like: a gym session with a virtual coach, a working day with floating task panels, a concert in the living room, an arcade on the sofa and shopping in the kitchen. The agency's production recap describes a further set of promos in the same style, each with 15 to 30 seconds of motion graphics.
The film opens on the glasses and controllers on a white plinth, then follows seven scenes, each introduced by a title card on a gradient: Go beyond your screen, High-intensity at home, Optimise your mind body and soul, Surf in your garden, Be front row wherever you go, Turn your living room to an arcade, Shop smarter. In each scene a transparent interface is placed into the filmed room and tracked to the camera: a coach-selection strip and skill charts over a garden boxing session, a calendar, task lists and an instruction window around a yoga class, surf imagery layered across a garden, a crowd and stage behind a woman on her sofa, a glowing portal and sparks for the arcade, and a product card with a floating ring in a kitchen. The Photonlens wordmark assembles on a cyan panel near the start and resolves alone on black at the end. We supervised the VFX on set as well, so every plate was shot with the compositing already planned: camera moves, lighting and reference for the panels that would be added later, which is what keeps the post-production short. Work like this is post-production: visual effects built as graphic layers, tracked to the filmed plates, composited and finished with the grade, by the same London-registered studio that cuts and grades the film.
